Wicomico County is concerned, and assist the County Commissioners
in all legal inquiries and investigations wherein Wicomico County
is concerned. He shall also appear in and prosecute or defend all
cases, civil or criminal, where Wicomico County is interested as
plaintiff or defendant. For his services above set forth he shall
receive an annual salary of not more than [One Thousand Dollars
($1,000.00) ] Sixteen Hundred Dollars ($1,600.00), payable monthly,
RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY, PAYABLE MONTHLY, IN
SUCH AMOUNT AS DETERMINED FROM TIME TO TIME BY
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, during the time of his services,
or proportionate part thereof, and the payment for his services above
mentioned as well as for any other services not hereinabove set forth
shall be provided for in the annual levy of Wicomico County in each
and every year, and paid in the same manner as other indebtedness
of said County is paid. The County Commissioners may fill any
vacancy caused by resignation, death or otherwise, and may dis-
charge and appoint a new counsel at its direction.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to add new Section 134 (c) to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages",
sub-title "Taxation", to follow; immediately after Section 134 (b)
thereof, relating to a distribution of proceeds of alcoholic beverage
taxes in Anne Arundel County, and relating generally to alcoholic
beverages therein.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 134 (c) be and it is hereby added to Article 2B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic
Beverages", sub-title "Taxation", to follow immediately after Section
134 (b) thereof and to read as follows:
134.
(c) Payments to be made by Anne Arundel County to the City of
Annapolis. In Anne Arundel County from the proceeds of such pay-
ments made to the Board of County Commissioners, said Board shall
make quarterly payments to the City of Annapolis. Each of such
payments to the said city shall be the same proportion of the amounts
paid to the said County as the population of the City of Annapolis
bears to the total population of Anne Arundel County according to
the latest available Federal census.
