260 Laws of Maryland [Ch. 202
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 2 of Article 49B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Interracial Commission", sub-title "Commis-
sion to Study Problems Affecting the Colored Population", be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

The members of said Commission shall not receive any compensa-
tion for their services but shall be paid the reasonable necessary
expenses while engaged in the discharge of their official duties.
The [Commission] Governor shall appoint an executive secretary
who shall be paid such compensation as shall be provided in the
budget, and who shall perform such duties as may be prescribed by
said Commission. In making said appointment, the [Commission]
Governor shall not be governed by Article 64A of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 202
(Senate Bill 240)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 26 of
Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "County Commis-
sioners", as said section was amended by Chapter 130 of the Acts
of 1951, increasing the compensation of the counsel to the Board
of County Commissioners of Wicomico County, defining his duties
and providing for his compensation. PROVIDING THAT THE
COMPENSATION OF THE COUNSEL OF THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF WICOMICO COUNTY SHALL
BE AS DETERMINED FROM TIME TO TIME BY THE
BOARD.

That Section 26 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County'', sub-title "County
Commissioners", as said section was amended by Chapter 130 of the
Acts of 1951, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
26. The County Commissioners of Wicomico County shall have
power to appoint a counsel. Said counsel shall advise the County
Commissioners, when requested, on all questions of law where
