33. Police Powers Over Property Acquired.

Nothing in this Article shall be deemed to limit or restrict the
police power of the State of Maryland or of the counties in which
any such park, parkway, forest, street, road, boulevard, or other
public way, ground, or space shall be located.

34. Tax Exemption For All Property Acquired By The Commission.

All land or other property acquired by the Commission for the
purposes specified hereinabove, or any of them, shall be exempt
from State, county, and municipal taxes.

35. Leases; Permits; Concessions.

The Commission has the power (1) to lease for a term not exceed-
ing ten years and to renew any such lease from time to time for
additional terms not exceeding ten years each, to any responsible
individual, partnership, or corporation, any portion of the lands
within the Metropolitan District, acquired for park purposes under
any of the provisions of this Article, (2) and/or to grant privileges,
permits, and/or concessions, and/or enter into contracts relating to
the same, with any responsible individual, partnership, or corpora-
tion, to engage in any business or enterprise on lands acquired for
park purposes within the Metropolitan District under any of the
provisions of this Article; all on such terms and conditions as the
Commission, in the exercise of its discretion, may deem advantageous
to the development of the park system as a part of the plan for the
physical development of the Metropolitan District and the plan of
the Maryland-Washington Regional District within the Metropolitan
District. The purpose for which any such property is leased, and/or
the privileges, permits, and/or concessions are granted, shall not be
inconsistent with the use of the property for park purposes. Any
lease and/or contract executed under the authority of this section
shall contain a condition stating specifically the purpose for which
the property is leased, and/or the privilege, permit, or concession is
granted.

36.    Commission's Right To Convey Property.

The Commission is authorized to sell, convey, transfer, lease, or
exchange any land held by it under this sub-title and deemed by the
Commission not to be needed for park purposes or other purposes
of this sub-title

37.    Disposal or Exchange of Playground and Recreational Facilities.

The Commission is authorized to sell or otherwise dispose of any
playground and recreational facilities which may no longer be need-
ed for public use and to use the proceeds of any such sale or other
disposition for the construction, acquisition, or improvement of any
other playground or recreational facilities in the Metropolitan Dis-
trict. The Commission is also authorized to exchange with the
United States of America, the State of Maryland, or any other pub-
lic body or agency any land held or acquired by the Commission in
its own name or in the name of the State of Maryland for play-
ground or recreational facilities, except park lands acquired by the
