1192                             Laws of Maryland                      [Ch. 772

Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Governor—Exec-
utive and Administrative Departments", sub-title "The Executive
Department", sub-heading "Head of Department", to follow im-
mediately after Section 15 thereof, and to read as follows:

15A. Whenever, by reason of death, resignation, removal from
office, inability or failure to qualify, there is no person designated or
provided by the Constitution of this State to discharge the powers
and duties of the office of Governor, or in the event of the failure
or inability of the General Assembly to elect a successor to the
office of Governor as provided by the Constitution of this State,
then the President of the Senate,
AT THE TIME SUCH VACANCY
OCCURRED, shall discharge the duties of said office until a Governor
is elected as provided by the Constitution of this State; and in case
there be no President of the Senate or in the case of his refusal to
serve, and in the case of his death, resignation, removal from the
State, or other disqualification while fulfilling the duties of said office
of Governor, then the duties of said office shall, in like manner and
for the same interval, devolve upon the Speaker of the House of
Delegates,
AT THE TIME SUCH VACANCY OCCURRED; and in
case there be no Speaker of the House of Delegates or in the case
of his refusal to serve and in the case of his death, resignation,
removal from the State, or other disqualification while discharging
the duties of said office of Governor, then the duties of said office
shall, in like manner and for the same interval, devolve upon the
Comptroller of the State,
AT THE TIME SUCH VACANCY
OCCURRED; and in case there be no Comptroller of the State, or in
the case of his refusal to serve, and in the case of his death, resigna-
tion, removal from the State, or other disqualification while dis-
charging the duties of said office of Governor, then the duties of
said office shall, in like manner and for the same interval devolve
upon the Attorney General of the State,
AT THE TIME SUCH
VACANCY OCCURRED.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 772
(House Bill 344)

AN ACT to add a new Section 134A to Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title
"Gypsies", to follow immediately after Section 134 thereof, re-
lating to the licensing of gypsies, palm readers, fortune tellers,
etc., in Cecil County.

Explanation: Italics indicate new matter added to existing law.

[Brackets] indicate matter stricken from existing law.

CAPITALS indicate amendments to bill.

Strike out indicates matter stricken out of bill.
