J. MILLARD TAWES, GOVERNOR                         117

380. The Sheriff of Kent County [shall be entitled to receive a
sum not exceeding sixty-five (65) cents a day for boarding and
keeping each prisoner committed to his custody, and the said
Sheriff] is hereby required to keep a book at the jail, which he shall
procure for the purpose, in which he shall record the name of each
prisoner committed to his custody, and by that authority the time
when received, and the offense charged, and also the date of his dis-
charge, which book shall be open to the inspection of the County
Commissioners, State's Attorney and Grand Jury; and should the
Sheriff neglect to keep said book or comply with any of the duties
which he is hereby required to perform, he shall be liable to indict-
ment, in the Circuit Court for Kent County, and, upon conviction
shall be fined not exceeding one hundred ($100.00) dollars.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 113
(Senate Bill 100)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 384 of
Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Kent County", sub-title "State's Attorney", re-
moving an obsolete reference to the salary received by the State's
Attorney of Kent County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 384 of Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Kent County", sub-title "State's
Attorney", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, and to read as follows:

384. The State's Attorney for Kent county, State of Maryland,
shall have power to employ a deputy or assistant, who shall be a
member of the local bar, in good standing, and shall be paid by the
State's Attorney out of his salary [of twelve hundred dollars ($1,-
200) aforesaid].

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

Approved March 3, 1959.
