provisions of Section 12 of Article 56 of the 1957 Edition of the
Annotated Code of Maryland.
Whereas, In Sections 245 to 247B, inclusive, of the Local Laws
of Kent County, some of these sections having been enacted by
Chapter 340 of the Acts of 1933, there are provisions for the issue of
certain forms of licenses in Kent County; and
Whereas, These provisions now are no longer effective by reason
of the provisions of Section 12 of Article 56 in the 1957 Edition of
the Annotated Code of Maryland to the effect that political sub-
divisions shall not require a permit or license for any business or
occupation for which a State license must be obtained; now, there-
fore
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 245, 246, 247, 247A and 247B of Article 15 of the
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Kent County",
sub-title "Licenses", Sections 247A and 247B also being under the
sub-heading "Hawkers and Peddlers", and having been enacted by
Chapter 340 of the Acts of 1933, be and they are hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 380 of
Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Kent County", sub-title "Sheriff", removing from
the laws relating to the Sheriff of Kent County a provision con-
cerning the boarding and keeping of prisoners who: are committed
to his custody.
Whereas, In Section 380 of the Local Laws of Kent County there
is a provision specifying the sum he is entitled to receive for boarding
and keeping prisoners committed to his. custody; and
Whereas, The sum specified is entirely inadequate and should be
removed for purposes of flexibility; and
Whereas, This entire subject is sufficiently covered by Section 46
of Article 87 in the 1957 State Code; now, therefore
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 380 of Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Kent County", sub-title "Sheriff",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
