missioners", to increase the expense allowance ANNUAL SAL-
ARY OF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PRINCE
GEORGE'S COUNTY, AS OF DECEMBER 4, 1962, AND PRO-
VIDING FOR AN ALLOWANCE OF EXPENSES, UNTIL DE-
CEMBER 4, 1962, UNDER SPECIFIED CONDITIONS, AND
RELATING GENERALLY TO THE SALARY AND EXPENSE
ALLOWANCES of the County Commissioners of Prince George's
County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 464 (a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1953 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's County", sub-
title "County Commissioners", be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
464. (a) There shall be five County Commissioners for Prince
George's County, elected for a term of four years, and they shall be
known by the corporate style of "County Commissioners for Prince
George's County", hereinafter referred to as the Board. The said
Board shall elect a presiding officer to serve during his term of office
who shall devote his full time to the duties of his office, and shall
have, subject to the direction of and review by the Board, adminis-
trative supervision over all departments and employees of the County
government. The UNTIL DECEMBER 4, 1962, THE presiding
officer shall receive an annual salary of Seven Thousand Five Hun-
dred Dollars and each of the other four commissioners shall receive
an annual salary of Three Thousand Six Hundred Dollars, as full
compensation for their official duties as Commissioner or in any
ex officio capacity; AND, AFTER DECEMBER 4, 1962, THE PRE-
SIDING OFFICER SHALL RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY
OF TEN THOUSAND ($10,000.00) DOLLARS AND EACH OF
THE OTHER FOUR COMMISSIONERS SHALL RECEIVE AN
ANNUAL SALARY OF FIFTY-SIX HUNDRED ($5600.00) DOL-
LARS, AS FULL COMPENSATION FOR THEIR OFFICIAL
DUTIES AS COMMISSIONER OR IN ANY EX OFFICIO CA-
PACITY, BUT SHALL NOT BE ENTITLED TO RECEIVE ANY
FURTHER OR OTHER ALLOWANCE OR EXPENSE MONEY.
The presiding officer shall be designated as the President, but may
adopt the title of Chairman for any purpose for which the use of
such title is appropriate. County Commissioners shall take office on
the first Tuesday of December following their election, In UNTIL
DECEMBER 4, 1962, BUT NOT THEREAFTER, IN addition to
the annual salary authorized by this section, the presiding officer
shall receive an annual expense account of [One Thousand Dollars
($1,000.00)] Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) and
each of the other four commissioners shall receive an annual expense
account of [Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00)] Two Thousand Dollars
($2,000.00) SUCH ALLOWANCES OR COMPENSATION FOR
EXPENSES INCIDENT TO THEIR RESPECTIVE DUTIES AS
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF SAID COUN-
TY SHALL PROVIDE BY RESOLUTION, OR RESOLUTIONS,
FOR SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY THEM, OR ANY ONE
OF THEM, RESPECTIVELY, FOR ATTENDING ADDITIONAL
OR SPECIAL MEETINGS, CONFERENCES OR OFFICIAL
FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMING ADDITIONAL OR SPECIAL
