FIRST OR SECOND DISTRICTS OR IN BOTH DISTRICTS, IT
SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE LEGALLY QUALIFIED
VOTERS OF THE FIRST AND OF THE SECOND ELECTION
DISTRICTS OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY ON THE DAY OF
THE REGULAR CONGRESSIONAL ELECTION IN THE MONTH
OF NOVEMBER, 1960. THERE SHALL BE PRINTED ON THE
BALLOTS OR BALLOT LABELS TO BE USED AT SAID ELEC-
TION THE TITLE OF THIS ACT TOGETHER WITH THE
WORDS "FOR FIRE DISTRICT TAX" AND "AGAINST FIRE
DISTRICT TAX" WITH SUITABLE PROVISION MADE WHERE-
BY THE VOTER MAY INDICATE HIS CHOICE ON SAID QUES-
TIONS IN EACH OF SAID ELECTION DISTRICTS. IF A MA-
JORITY OF THE PERSONS VOTING IN THE FIRST ELECTION
DISTRICT SHALL VOTE "FOR FIRE DISTRICT TAX", THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IN
THE FIRST ELECTION DISTRICT IMMEDIATELY UPON AN
OFFICIAL CANVASS OF THE VOTES AND A DECLARATION
TO THIS EFFECT TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
ELECTIONS OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY. IF A MAJORITY
OF THE PERSONS VOTING ON SAID QUESTION IN THE SEC-
OND ELECTION DISTRICT SHALL VOTE "FOR FIRE DIS-
TRICT TAX", THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT SHALL BE-
COME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY IN THE SECOND DIS-
TRICT UPON AN OFFICIAL CANVASS OF THE VOTES AND
A DECLARATION TO THIS EFFECT TO THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY.
IF A MAJORITY OF THE PERSONS VOTING ON THIS QUES-
TION IN EITHER THE FIRST DISTRICT OR THE SECOND
DISTRICT OR IN BOTH SAID DISTRICTS SHALL VOTE
"AGAINST FIRE DISTRICT TAX", THE BOARD OF SUPER-
VISORS OF ELECTIONS SHALL SO DECLARE AND THIS ACT
SHALL THEN BE NULL AND VOID AND OF NO FURTHER
EFFECT WHATSOEVER IN EITHER THE FIRST DISTRICT
OR THE SECOND DISTRICT OR IN BOTH DISTRICTS AS THE
CASE MAY BE. THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AND THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY SHALL DO SUCH THINGS AS ARE
NECESSARY AND PROPER TO SUBMIT THESE QUESTIONS
SEPARATELY TO THE VOTERS IN THE FIRST AND SECOND
DISTRICTS OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY. THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS SHALL PROMPTLY REPORT
TO THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT FOR ANNE ARUN-
DEL COUNTY THE RESULTS OF THE TWO SEPARATE REF-
ERENDA AND THE CLERK OF COURT SHALL PROMPTLY
CERTIFY THE TWO SETS OF RESULTS TO THE SECRETARY
OF STATE OF MARYLAND.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That before this Act shall

become effective, it shall first be submitted to the legally qualified

voters of Anne Arundel County at a special election to be held in

1960, the date to be in the discretion of the Board of County Com-

missioners of Anne Arundel County. The cost of such election shall
be borne by the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County.

There shall be printed on the ballots or ballot labels, to be used at

said election, the title of this Act and underneath said title, on sepa-
rate lines, a square or box to the right of and opposite the words "For
