of law or equity or before any judge, justice of the peace, or other
tribunal in this State, in the same manner and to have the same effect
as if the original books, papers, entries, records or proceedings were
themselves produced.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1960.

CHAPTER 111
(Senate Bill 25)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 295 of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Public Education", subtitle "Vocational Rehabilitation", so as
to provide for the appointment of a Committee to advise the Work-
men's Compensation Commission with respect to vocational re-
habilitation of injured workers, to provide for the employment
of a Rehabilitation Counselor by the Commission, and dealing with
matters generally relating thereto.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 295 of Article 77, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Public Education", subtitle "Vocational Re-
habilitation", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so
as to read as follows:
295.
(a) The State Board of Education and the Workmen's Compen-
sation Commission are hereby empowered and directed to cooperate
in the administration of this subtitle, and to formulate a plan of
cooperation, to become effective when approved by the Governor.
In order to facilitate the cooperation between these two agencies in
the administration of this subtitle, the Governor shall appoint a
Committee, to be known as the Injured Workers' Vocational Re-
habilitation Committee, to advise the Workmen's Compensation Com-
mission with respect to all phases of vocational rehabilitation of in-
jured workers filing claims for compensation with the Commission,
including workers whose claims are ultimately denied or who are
held to be not within the coverage of the laws relating to Workmen's
Compensation as set forth in Article 101 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland. The Committee shall consist of the following individuals:
The Chairman of the Workmen's Compensation Commission, the
State Director of Vocational Rehabilitation, one employee, one em-
ployer, a representative of a casualty insurance company and a
registered physician. The Governor shall designate one member of
the Committee to serve as Chairman. The Chairman of the Work-
men's Compensation Commission and the State Director of Voca-
tional Rehabilitation shall be members of the Committee ex officio,
