A person holding the position of assessor's aide shall cover the
the salary range between the minimum and maximum figures in two
years, receiving one-half of the differential at the end of each of the
first two years of service. Persons holding any of the three other
positions shall coyer the salary range between the minimum and
maximum figures in five years, receiving one-fifth of the differential
at the end of each of the first five years of service. ]

The several numbered pay scales referred to in this sub-section are
as established from time to time under the Standard Salary Scale.
Assessor's aides begin with the third salary rate within the applicable
salary range, and not at the beginning salary rate, and move thence
upward to the maximum rate therein.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1960.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 33 of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Crimes and Punishments, " sub-title "Burglary; Breaking
and Entering",

AMENDING THE LAWS CONCERNING BREAKING INTO
CERTAIN PREMISES AND STEALING THEREFROM, AND
CHANGING THE PENALTY FOR THIS OFFENSE.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 33 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Burglary;
Breaking and Entering", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

33.

Every person convicted of the crime of breaking into any shop,
storeroom, filling station, garage, trailer, cabin, diner, tobacco house
