BE AND IT IS HEREBY ADDED TO ARTICLE 81 OF SAID
CODE, TITLE "REVENUE AND TAXES", SUB-TITLE "GEN-
ERAL PROVISIONS", SUB-HEADING "STATE TAX COMMIS-
SION", TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER SECTION 235 (G)
THEREOF, and to read as follows:

114A. The County Commissioners of Charles County shall have
the power and authority, in their discretion, to
pay to any school
teacher of Charles County who is retired from teaching service and
who is receiving any retirement benefits under the provisions of
the State Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Maryland,
where such benefits in the aggregate are less than $115 per month,
an additional sum not exceeding $25 per month upon application to
the County Commissioners.

235 (H) THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CHARLES
COUNTY SHALL PAY TO ANY EMPLOYEE OF THE SUPER-
VISOR OF ASSESSMENTS OF SAID COUNTY WHO ON JANU-
ARY 1, 1957, HAD SERVED FOR A PERIOD OF AT LEAST 30
YEARS AS SUCH AN EMPLOYEE, A PENSION OF $125.00
MONTHLY.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 598
(House Bill 480)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (f)
of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition
and 1956 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in
Fact", relating to the Assistant State's Attorney and secretary to
the State's Attorney of Charles County and to their salaries.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (f) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and
Attorneys in Fact", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

40.

(f) Charles, St. Mary's and Talbot Counties—The State's attorneys
of Charles, St. Mary's and Talbot counties shall each receive an
annual salary of $3,000.

The State's attorney of St. Mary's County shall be allowed twelve
hundred dollars ($1,200.00) annually for clerical expenses and a six
hundred dollar ($600.00) annual rental allowance.
