Sec. 12-3. "Gambling paraphernalia" defined; seizure and dispo-
sition.

Gambling paraphernalia within the meaning of this chapter is
hereby defined to include any table, apparatus, device, machine or
article of any kind or description intended to be used for the pur-
pose of gaming as defined by section 12-1 of this Code. Money which
shall be found on a table on which gaming is at the time being con-
ducted, shall be gambling paraphernalia within the meaning of this
chapter. The possession of gambling paraphernalia as herein defined
shall be a violation of this chapter. All gambling paraphernalia with-
in the territorial limits of the county, as herein defined, and all
money, currency or cash, whether gambling paraphernalia within
the definition of this section or not, which is found to be used in
betting or paying off bets or otherwise used in connection with gamb-
ling in violation of this section, or in violation of any other law of
Montgomery County or of the State of Maryland pertaining to gam-
ing or gambling,
shall be subject to seizure by the law officers of
the county, and upon conviction of the owner or possessor of such
paraphernalia, money, currency or cash, the paraphernalia, money,
currency or cash,
shall be forfeited to the county and disposed of in
accordance with the order of the court having jurisdiction to try vio-
lations of this chapter. The court is hereby authorized in its discre-
tion to direct the sale of such paraphernalia and the payment of the
proceeds into the police fund of the county, or, if such paraphernalia
consists of money, the payment of the same directly into such fund.

Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 81
(Senate Bill 212)

AN ACT to repeal Section 224 of Article 23 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County",
sub-title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-heading "County Treasurer",
said section having been amended by Chapter 412 of the Acts of
1953; to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, 'Section 47 (i) of
Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1956 Supplement),
title "County Commissioners", sub-title "County Treasurers"; and
to add a new Section 47(i-1) to said Article and sub-title, to follow
immediately after Section 47 (i) thereof, increasing the compen-
sation of the treasurer of Wicomico County, eliminating a conflict
in the law concerning the treasurer, and relating generally to the
treasurer of Wicomico County, and to his compensation and duties.

Wicomico County are covered both in Section 47 (i) of Article 25 of
