sub-title "State's Attorney", providing for the appointment and
relating to the duties of a Special Investigator for the office of
the State's Attorney for Montgomery County; and pertaining
generally to the compensation therefor.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (k) (8) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys
in Fact", sub-title "State's Attorney", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(k)

[8] (8 A) (8-a) The State's Attorney of Montgomery County is
authorized to appoint three clerks at such annual salary as may be
fixed by the County Council.

(8-b) The State's Attorney of Montgomery County is authorized
to appoint a Special Investigator at an annual salary of not less than
$6,000.00. The County Council may increase the compensation of the
Special Investigator at its discretion. The Special Investigator shall
be directly under the supervision of the State's Attorney and shall
perform such duties as the State's Attorney may from time to time
designate.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

(Senate Bill 193)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 12-3 of
the Montgomery County Code (1955 Edition—being Article 16 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Montgomery
County", sub-title "Part 2. General Local Laws", sub-heading
"Chapter 12. Gaming", authorizing seizure of CERTAIN money,
currency and cash used in connection with betting or gambling or
in the violation of any COUNTY OR STATE laws on gaming or
gambling and relating to the forfeiture thereof.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 12-3 of the Montgomery County Code (1955 Edition—
being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Montgomery County", sub-title "Part 2. General Local Laws",
sub-heading "Chapter 12. Gaming", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
