Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 202 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Fraud—
Drugs", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
202. Any person or corporation engaged in the business of sell-
ing drugs, medicines, chemicals or preparations for medical use or
of compounding or dispensing physicians' prescriptions, who shall,
in person or by his or its agents or employees, or as agent or em-
ployee of some other person, knowingly sell or deliver to any person
a drug, medicine, chemical preparation for medicinal use, recognized
or authorized by the latest edition of the United States pharma-
copoeia, or prepared according to the private formula of some indi-
vidual or firm, other or different from the drug, medicine, chemical
or preparation [for medicinal use, recognized or authorized by the
latest edition of the United States pharmacopoeia, or prepared
according to the private formula of some individual or firm], ordered
or called for by such person, or called for in a physician's prescrip-
tion, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be punished by a fine of not less than One Hundred Dollars
nor more than Five Hundred Dollars, or by not less than one month
nor more than twelve months' imprisonment, or by both, and any
person so convicted shall forfeit the right to practice pharmacy
under any certificate or registration issued under the laws of this
State.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 6
(Senate Bill 45)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 55 of
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Licenses", sub-title "Traders", correcting a cross reference
which is no longer applicable in its present form.
Whereas, in Section 55 of Article 56 of the 1951 Code, there is a
cross reference to Section 43 of that Article in the 1939 Code; and
Whereas, what has been Section 43 in the 1939 Code was repealed
by Chapter 791 of the Acts of 1941, being substantially repealed by
what is now Section 2 of Article 51; and
Whereas, it is desirable to make this correction in order that the
wording of the Code may be accurate; now, therefore
