now comprising said election districts; that is to say, one County
Commissioner shall be a resident of Election District No. 1, known
as the Easton District and the candidate residing in said District
who receives the largest number of votes of all other candidates
residing in said District shall be deemed elected; one County Com-
missioner shall be a resident of Election District No. 2, known as
the St. Michaels District and the candidate residing in said District
who receives the largest number of votes of all other candidates
residing in said District shall be deemed elected; one County Com-
missioner shall be a resident of Election District No. 3, known as the
Trappe District and the candidate residing in said District who
receives the largest number of votes of all other candidates residing
in said District shall be deemed elected; one County Commissioner
shall be a resident of Election District No. 4, known as the Chapel
District and the candidate residing in said District who receives the
largest number of votes of all other candidates residing in said
District shall be deemed elected; and one County Commissioner shall
be a resident of Election District No. 5, known as the Bay Hundred
District and the candidate residing in said District who receives the
largest number of votes of all other candidates residing in said
District shall be deemed elected. Each of these said Commissioners
shall be elected by the qualified voters of the entire County.
67. THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF TALBOT COUNTY
SHALL EACH RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY OF TWO
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00) PAYABLE QUARTERLY,
PROVIDED THAT THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNTY COM-
MISSIONERS SHALL RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY OF
TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,500.00), PAY-
ABLE QUARTERLY. THE SAID COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
ARE REQUIRED TO MEET FOR THE TRANSACTION OF PUB-
LIC BUSINESS IN THEIR OFFICE AT EASTON NOT LESS
THAN TWO DAYS PER WEEK, AND AS MUCH OFTENER AS
THE PROPER DISCHARGE OF THEIR DUTIES MAY REQUIRE.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the incumbent County
Commissioners of Talbot County shall remain at their present num-
ber and , membership AND COMPENSATION until the expiration
of their present terms. The Board of Election Supervisors of Talbot
County shall prepare the voting machine's in accordance with this
section, listing the candidates for County Commissioners under the
respective election districts wherein they reside, beginning in the
primary and general election of 1958. THE ADDITION OF MEM-
BERS AND THE COMPENSATION PROVIDED HEREIN SHALL
NOT APPLY TO THE PRESENT BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS FOR TALBOT COUNTY BUT SHALL TAKE EFFECT
UPON THE ELECTION OF THE NEW BOARD AS ELECTED
IN NOVEMBER, 1958, AT THE TIME THEY SHALL ASSUME
OFFICE.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
