Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act stall take effect

CHAPTER 430
(House Bill 252)

AN ACT relating to the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning
Commission; to repeal and reenact with amendments Section II of
the Maryland-Washington Metropolitan District Act, as enacted by
Chapter 1008 of the Laws of Maryland of 1943 and Chapter 582 of
the Laws of Maryland of 1949; to repeal Chapter 952 of the Laws of
1945, as amended by Chapter 761 of the Laws of 1953 and reenact
the same with amendments as Section II-A of the Maryland-Wash-
ington Metropolitan District Act; to repeal Section 2-II-A of the
Maryland-Washington Metropolitan District Act as enacted by
Chapter 761 of the Laws of 1953; to repeal and reenact with
amendments Section III of the Maryland-Washington Metropolitan
District Act as enacted by Chapter 1008 of the Laws of 1943 and
Chapter 942 of the Laws of 1945; to repeal and reenact with
amendments Section 2-E(2) of the Maryland-Washington Regional
District Act as enacted by Chapter 668 of the Laws of 1955 and to
repeal all laws inconsistent with this Act or contrary hereto; the
purposes of this Act being to increase the membership of the
Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission; to pro-
vide for the appointment of the members thereof; to prescribe
their term of office, duties, and compensation; to abolish the of-
fice of Park Commissioner and create the position of Director of
Parks; and to designate the members of the Commission from
Montgomery and Prince George's Counties as the Montgomery
County Planning Board and the Prince George's County Planning
Board, respectively, and to define their duties and functions. AND
TO DETERMINE THAT SAID COMMISSION SHALL NOT BE
CLASSIFIED AS A "MUNICIPAL CORPORATION" UNDER
THE TERMS OF ARTICLE XI-E OF THE CONSTITUTION OF
MARYLAND. AND RELATING GENERALLY TO DISTRIBU-
TION AND HANDLING OF PROCEEDS OF THE ADMINIS-
TRATIVE TAX COLLECTED UNDER PROVISIONS OF THE
ACT AND PROVIDING GENERALLY FOR THE POWERS AND
JURISDICTION OF THE PLANNING BOARDS AND OF THE
SAID COMMISSION.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section II of the Maryland-Washington Metropolitan District
Act as enacted by Chapter 1008 of the Laws of Maryland of 1943 and
Chapter 582 of the Laws of Maryland of 1949 be and the same is
hereby repealed and reenacted with amendments to read as follows:
