Whereas, the language should be that this "sub-section" should
apply in those two counties, since Sub-section (a) applies in other
counties of the State; and

Whereas, it is desirable to amend the reference as to the applica-
bility of Sub-section (b), in order to avoid any question as to its
correct wording; now, therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 114 (b) of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1956 Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-title "Teach-
ers' Retirement System", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

114.

(b) When benefits less than $125 per month.—Any school teacher
who is retired and who is receiving any retirement benefits under
the provisions of this sub-title, when such benefits in the aggregate
are less than $125.00 per month shall receive an additional sum not
exceeding $50.00 per month upon application to the county com-
missioners, and said commissioners shall levy annually an amount
sufficient to pay such additional benefits. Provided that this; sub-
section shall apply only in Carroll County and Wicomico County.
Provided also that the sum granted to any applicant by the said
county commissioners shall be such that when added to whatever
any such person is receiving from the teachers' retirement system
the total shall not exceed $125.00 per month.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

(Senate Bill 93)

AN ACT to add Sub-section (c) to Section 114 of Article 77 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "Public
Education", sub-title "Teachers' Retirement System, said sub-
section to follow immediately after Sub-section (b) thereof, pro-
viding extra retirement benefits for certain public school teachers
of Kent County, authorizing the payment of such benefits by the
Board of County Commissioners of Kent County and relating
generally to the provisions applicable thereto.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-section (c) be and it is hereby added to Section 114 of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1956 Supplement),
