Whereas, House Bill No. 123 of the 1957 Session was introduced
to raise the maximum gross weight limit upon which motor vehicle
registration fees are based for single unit farm trucks; and

Whereas, this bill was passed by both Houses of the General
Assembly and was signed by the Governor to become Chapter 66 of
the Acts of 1957; and

Whereas, subsequently the General Assembly passed over the
Governor's veto Senate Bill No. 64 which became Chapter 93 of the
Acts of 1957 and revised permanently the entire schedule of motor
vehicle registration fees; and

Whereas, there is a strong probability that in the enactment of
Chapter 93 of 1957 the provisions of Chapter 66 have been abrogated;
and

Whereas, in order to give continued effect without question to the
provisions of said Chapter 66, it is desirable that this particular sec-
tion be re-enacted with the same amendment contained in said
Chapter 66; now, therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 80 (f) (5) of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement), title "Motor Ve-
hicles," sub-title "Administration—Registration—Titling," said sec-
tion having been amended by Chapter 93 of the Acts of 1957, be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

(5) If such vehicle is a single unit truck owned by a farmer and
qualified as a farm truck, as those terms are defined hereinbelow, it
shall pay a registration fee based upon gross shipping weight of the
chassis and battery as certified by the manufacturer, with gross
weight limitations for the vehicle and load, as follows:

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
