Commissioners", sub-heading "Miscellaneous", as enacted by Chapter
153 of the Acts of 1955, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

250A. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County shall
have full power to contract with property owners for the purchase
of land, the use of which may be required in connection with the
opening of any new road, street, alley or sidewalk, for the construc-
tion or repair of any bridge, the relocation, straightening or widen-
ing of any road, street or alley or sidewalk, the proper drainage of
any such road, street, alley or sidewalk. If the County Commissioners
shall be unable for any reason to agree with the owner or owners
of any such land, or the owner or owners of the buildings or im-
provements thereon, the use of which is required for the opening of
any new road, street, alley or sidewalk, for the construction or repair
of any bridge, for the relocating, straightening or widening of any
road, street, alley or sidewalk, the proper drainage thereof, then
the County Commissioners may proceed to condemn the same for the
use of the County under the provisions of Article 33A (Eminent
Domain) of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), as
amended from time to time. However, the County Commissioners
shall not be required to accept the award or Judgment rendered in
any proceeding under said statute, but they may [, with the consent
of the defendant,] abandon the said proceeding for eminent domain
upon payment of the costs thereof including reasonable attorneys
fees.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 347
(House Bill 563)

AN ACT to add new Section 595A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition), being Article 2 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel
County", sub-title "Trespassing", said new section to follow im-
mediately after Section 595 thereof, providing that it shall be a
misdemeanor to discharge any firearm within 100 yards of any
building used or occupied by human beings without permission
therefor, and providing a penalty for a violation of the section.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 595A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition), being
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Anne
