CHAPTER 345
(House Bill 517)

AN ACT to authorize the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commis-
sion to waive the requirements of existing law relative to the
guarantee of its securities by the County Council of Montgomery
County and the County Commissioners of Prince George's County,
at the Commission's option.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, a public Corpo-
ration, at its option, and if in its opinion the application of this Act
does not seriously affect the sale of its securities, may waive the re-
quired guarantee of the County Council of Montgomery County and
the County Commissioners of Prince George's County of its bonds
and certain other securities, as now required by law; but this Act
shall not be taken to mean that the waiver of the guarantee on any
one issue of its bonds or securities shall be construed to be a waiver
of the guarantee of all future issues of its bonds or securities. It is
the purpose of this Act to permit the Sanitary Commission to waive
the present requirement of law as to the guarantee of its bonds and
securities by the Council and the Commissioners where money market
conditions seem to justify the sale of the securities of the Sanitary
District without such guarantee but to require such guarantee where
monetary conditions seem to require the guarantee to secure a favor-
able sale of its securities.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 250A of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947
Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "County Com-
missioners", sub-heading "Miscellaneous", as enacted by Chapter
153 of the Acts of 1955, relating to the abandonment of condem-
nation proceedings begun by the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County.
