Where", relating to tax exemption for real property owned by
non-profit organizations and used as commemorative parks or sites
for monuments to veterans of the Armed Forces of the United
States, OR OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 8(6) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "What Shall
Be Taxed and Where", be and is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
Sec. 8.
(6). [Real property purchased in the State of Maryland by sur-
vivors of the Civil War of 1861-5 for the purpose of erecting monu-
ments and of laying out commemorative parks in memory of those
who fought on either side during said war;] Real property in the
State of Maryland owned by non-profit organizations and maintained
as a commemorative park or as a site for a monument in memory
of those who fought in the Armed Forces of the United States of
America or The Confederate States of America; provided that no
more than fifteen acres shall be exempted for any one association.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to legalize the 1957 Edition of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Washington County, being Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, published under the direction of
the Board of County Commissioners of Washington County and
edited by Carl N. Everstine, and making provisions for the publi-
cation, sale and distribution thereof.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the 1957 Edition of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washing-
ton County, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, published under the direction of the Board of County
Commissioners of Washington County and edited by Carl N. Ever-
stine, be and the same is hereby legalized. Said Code shall contain
all Public Local Laws relating to Washington County in effect at the
completion of the 1957 Regular Session of the General Assembly of
Maryland; it shall be deemed and taken in all the Courts of the
State and by all Justices of the Peace and Trial Magistrates of the
