288-B. The Judges of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Maryland
are hereby authorized and empowered to employ a competent full-
time Court Reporter for the Circuit Court of Prince George's Coun-
ty, such reporter to be an expert stenographer or otherwise com-
petent to record court proceedings, who shall hold office during the
pleasure of the said Judges. He shall be paid such a salary as said
Judges may fix not to exceed the sum of $6,000.00 per annum, pay-
able by the County Commissioners of Prince George's County, as
other Court expenses are paid. Said reporter shall attend and take
full stenographic notes of, or otherwise record, all oral testimony
and Judicial opinions in such proceedings as the Court may from
time to time direct. Said reporter shall make and furnish to any
party, upon request, a transcript of any part of said notes, upon the
payment by such party of the expenses of such transcript at a rate
to be approved by the Court.

The Court may, in any case pending in said court, direct such re-
porter to transcribe the notes taken with respect to such case and
to provide that the cost thereof at the rates aforesaid shall be taxed
as part of the cost in such case, or, if the Court shall so direct, be
paid as a part of the Court expenses.

Provided that nothing contained in this Act will impair the
authority of the Circuit Court for Prince George's County to employ
a Court Reporter on a per diem pursuant to the provisions of Chap-
ter 297 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1951, now codified as
Sec. 288 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's Coun-
ty, when the need therefor shall become apparent.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 305

(Senate Bill 370)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 193 through 218, inclusive, of Article 18
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Queen Anne's County", sub-title "County Treasurer", said Sec-
tions 195, 195A, 197 to 218, inclusive, and 217A having been
amended as enacted, respectively, by Chapters 30 of the Acts of
1933, 84 of 1943, 9 of the Special Session of 1936 and 954 of 1943,
and to enact in lieu thereof new Sections 193 to 218G, to stand
in the place and stead of the sections so repealed, relating to the
County Treasurer of Queen Anne's County, his office, salary,
powers and duties and to the collection of taxes and to delinquent
taxes and to tax sales thereof.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That Sections 193 through 218, inclusive, of Article 18 of the Code of
