158. The Judge of the Circuit Court for Harford County is
authorized and empowered to designate, appoint, and employ, a
qualified person to be known as the Master for Juvenile Causes of
the Circuit Court for Harford County, who shall be a member of the
Bar of the State of Maryland, at such salary as the Judge of the
Circuit Court may order and approve, to be paid by the County Com-
missioners of Harford County. The duties of the Master for Juvenile
Causes shall be prescribed in writing by the Judge of the Circuit
Court for Harford County. Such written instructions shall be avail-
able to the public in the Clerk's office and they shall extend to said
Master only such powers in juvenile cases as are vested by law in
the Judge of the Circuit Court.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to add a new section to each of the Articles of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition) dealing with Cal-
vert County, Charles County, and St. Mary's County respectively,
and to the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County
(1953 Edition), said section to be known as Section 72B of Ar-
ticle 5 of said Code, title "Calvert County", sub-title "Circuit
Court"; as Section 37 of Article 9 of said Code, title "Charles
County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading "Stenographer";
as Section 45B of Article 19 of said Code, title "St. Mary's Coun-
ty", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading "Court Stenographer";
and as Section 288-A of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1953 Edition) being Article 17 of said Code,
title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-
heading "Court Stenographer", so as to provide for the retire-
ment of Robert G. MacCartee as Court Reporter in the Seventh
Judicial Circuit of Maryland, and providing for his retirement
pay by the County Commissioners of said Counties; and to add a
new section to be known as 288-B of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edition) Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's
County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading "Court Stenogra-
pher", to provide for the employment of a full time Court Re-
porter, in Prince George's County, and to fix his compensation.
Whereas, as Robert G. MacCartee has served the Courts and the
public as Court Reporter in the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Mary-
land for about forty years and has been the official Court Reporter
