which the appointment of a sealer or deputy sealer of weights
and measures shall be required.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 13 of Article 97 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Weights and Measures", sub-title "Standard
Weights and Measures", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

13. City and County Sealers and Deputy Sealers of Weights and
Measures.—In and for each city or town having a population of
[35,000 or more, and in and for each county having a population of
35,000 or more exclusive of any city in such county having a popu-
lation 35,000] 100,000 or more, and in and for each county having
a population of 100,000
or more, according to the latest official State
or United States census, there shall be a sealer of weights and
measures, and such deputy sealers of weights and measures as may
be required, hereinafter referred to as sealers and deputy sealers,
respectively. The sealer and deputy sealers shall be appointed by
the governing body in any such town, city or county in accordance
with the local law as to such appointments.

Provided, that a town, city, or county having a population of
less than [35,000] 100,000 may appoint, a sealer and deputy sealers
as provided in this section. And provided further, that when the
governing body in such town, city, or county elects to appoint a
sealer all of the provisions of this sub-title will apply in the same
manner as if such appointment were required by this section.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 303

(Senate Bill 301)

AN ACT to add new Section 158 to the Harford County Code (1942
Edition), being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Harford County", under a new sub-title "Juvenile
Court", to follow immediately after Section 157 thereof, authoriz-
ing the Judge of the Circuit Court for Harford County to appoint
a Master for Juvenile Causes in Harford County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 158 be and it is hereby added to the Harford
County Code (1942 Edition), being Article 13 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Harford County", under a new sub-title "Juvenile
Court", to follow immediately after Section 157 thereof, and to read
as follows:
