making provision for the annual compensation of the several judges
of the Orphans' Court in Garrett County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 250 (c) of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1956 Supplement), title "Testamentary Law," sub-title "Or-
phans' Court," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
250. Compensation of judges of orphans' courts.
(c) Compensation and travel allowance in Garrett County.—Each
of the judges of the orphans' court for Garrett County shall receive
[the sum of eight dollars ($8.00) for every day's attendance upon
the sessions of said court,] annual compensation in the amount of
six hundred dollars ($600.00), together with an allowance of five
cents (5c) per mile for each mile traveled in attending the sessions
of said court.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the compensation fixed
by the Act for each of the Judges of the Orphans' Court of Garrett
County shall commence as of the effective date of the amendment to
Section 40 of Article 4 of the Constitution of Maryland, proposed by
Chapter 124 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1956 and adopted
by the qualified voters of the State at the general election held in
November, 1956.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to add new Section 6B to Article 25 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "County Commissioners",
sub-title "General Provisions", said new section to follow im-
mediately after Section 6A thereof, authorizing the County Com-
missioners of Dorchester County to acquire, erect buildings on,
and sell real or leasehold property for any public purpose.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 6B be and it is hereby added to Article 25 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "County Com-
missioners', sub-title "General Provisions", said new section to
follow immediately after Section 6A thereof, and to read as follows:
