CHAPTER 23
(House Bill 57)
AN ACT legalizing the 1957 Edition of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, prepared and published by the Editorial Staff of The Michie
Company, Charlottesville, Virginia, and making it evidence of
the law.
Whereas, A new edition of the Annotated Code of Maryland, to be
known as the 1957 Edition, is in course of preparation by the Edito-
rial Staff of The Michie Company, Charlottesville, Virginia; and
Whereas, This new edition of the Code is to contain all the statutes
still in force which were found in the 1951 Edition of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, which was legalized and made evidence of the law
by Chapter 315 of the Acts of 1951, and all the Public General Laws
still in force contained in the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land enacted at the Regular Sessions of 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956
and 1957, and at the Special Session of March 8, 1956; now, therefore
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the 1957 Edition of the Annotated Code of Maryland, prepared
and published by the Editorial Staff of The Michie Company, Char-
lottesville, Virginia, be and the same is hereby legalized and made
evidence of the Public General Laws of the State of Maryland as
contained in the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland of 1888, as
amended, modified and changed from time to time, through and
including the Regular Session of the General Assembly of Maryland
held in the year 1957. Said Code shall be deemed and taken as such
in all the Courts of this State and by all Justices of the Peace, Trial
Magistrates and all other public officials of the State of Maryland.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1,1957.

AN ACT legalizing the 1957 Supplement to the Annotated Code of
the Public General Laws of Maryland (1951 Edition), prepared
and published by the Editorial Staff of The Michie Company, Char-
lottesville, Virginia, and making it evidence of the law.
Whereas, By Chapter 315 of the Acts of 1951, the General Assem-
bly legalized and made evidence of the law, the 1951 Edition of the
Annotated Code of the Public General Laws of Maryland; and
Explanation: Italics indicate new matter added to existing law.
[Brackets] indicate matter stricken from existing law.
CAPITALS indicate amendments to bill.
Strike out indicates matter stricken out of bill.
