and that imprisonment of offenders shall not exceed two years.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

(Senate Bill 298)

AN ACT to repeal Section 15 (c) of Article 30 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Deaf, Dumb and Blind",
said section relating to the eligibility for public assistance to the
needy blind.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 15 (c) of Article 30 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Deaf, Dumb and Blind", be and it is hereby
repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

June 1, 1957.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE
AND NECESSARY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE PUB-
LIC HEALTH AND SAFETY AND HAVING BEEN PASSED BY
A YEA AND NAY VOTE, SUPPORTED BY THREE-FIFTHS OF
ALL THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF THE TWO
HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SAME SHALL
TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.
