IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE
AND NECESSARY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE PUB-
LIC HEALTH AND SAFETY AND HAVING BEEN PASSED BY
A YEA AND NAY VOTE, SUPPORTED BY THREE-FIFTHS OF
ALL THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF THE TWO
HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SAME SHALL
TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.

CHAPTER 211
(Senate Bill 310)

AN ACT to repeal Section 482 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-title
"Mining", said section relating to the appointment of Dr. John
J. Rutledge as Chief Consultant of the Bureau of Mines and being
obsolete since the decease of Dr. Rutledge.

Whereas by Chapter 283 of the Acts of 1949 the General Assemb-
ly designated Dr. John J. Rutledge as Chief Consultant to the Bu-
reau of Mines, and

Whereas, this law is now contained in Section 482 of Article 66C
of the Code and should be repealed as obsolete because of the death
of Dr. Rutledge, now therefore:

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 482 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Mining", be
and the same is hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
