cealed Weapons", relating to the specific inclusion of switch blade
knife within the classification of concealed weapons.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-section (a) of Section 44 of Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments",
sub-title "Concealed Weapons", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

44.

(a) Every person who shall wear or carry any pistol, dirk-knife,
bowie knife, switch-blade knife, slung SLING shot, sand club, metal
knuckles, razor, or any other dangerous or deadly weapon of any kind
whatsoever (pen knives WITHOUT SWITCH BLADE excepted) con-
cealed upon or about his person, and every person who shall wear or
carry any such weapon openly with the intent or purpose of injuring
any person in any unlawful manner, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than One Thou-
sand Dollars, or be imprisoned in jail, or the Maryland House of Cor-
rection, for not more than two years; and in cases of conviction, if it
shall appear from the evidence that such weapon was carried, con-
cealed as aforesaid or openly, with the deliberate purpose of injuring
the person or destroying the life of another, the court, or justice of
the peace, presiding in the case, shall impose the highest sentence of
imprisonment hereinbefore prescribed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 169

(House Bill 109)

AN ACT to add new Section 806½ to Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County", sub-title "Trespass", to follow immediately after Section
806 thereof, providing that it shall be a misdemeanor to discharge

any firearm within 100 yards of any building used or occupied by

human beings without permission therefor, and providing a penalty
for violation hereof.
ANY FIREARM IN WASHINGTON
COUNTY WITHIN SUCH PROXIMITY TO CERTAIN BUILD-
INGS AND ANIMALS AS THEREBY TO ENDANGER THE
PERSON OR PROPERTY OF ANOTHER, AND PROVIDING
A PENALTY FOR SUCH OFFENSE.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 806½ be and it is hereby added to Article 22 of
