be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
65. For the purpose of reducing the cost of road maintenance,
the State Roads Commission and the County Commissioners of the
several Counties are hereby authorized to provide, by mutual agree-
ment, at any time to change the status of any road within the said
County from a county road to a state road or from a state road to
a county road; provided, however, that the provisions of this section
shall not apply to Caroline, Somerset, Cecil, [Queen Anne's,] Talbot,
and Worcester Counties.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

(Senate Bill 302)
AN ACT to legalize the 1957 Edition of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Queen Anne's County, being Article 18 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, compiled and edited by James
E. Thompson, Jr., and to authorize and empower The County
Commissioners of Queen Anne's County to appropriate sufficient
funds to provide for publication and copywriting said Code and
further provide for the sale and distribution thereof.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the 1957 Edition of the Code of Public Local Laws of Queen
Anne's County, being Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, compiled and edited by James E. Thompson, Jr., be and
the same is hereby legalized. Said Code shall be deemed and taken
in all the Courts of the State and by all Justices of the Peace and
Trial Magistrates of the State and by all other public officials of
the State to be evidence of the Public Local Laws of Queen Anne's
County in existence at the time of compilation. Said Code shall
contain all Public Local Laws relating to Queen Anne's County in
effect at the completion of the 1957 Session of the General Assembly
of Maryland.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Commis-
sioners of Queen Anne's County be and they are hereby authorized
and empowered to make an appropriation to provide for the publica-
tion and copywriting of said Code and they further may provide
for the sale and distribution of said Code.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
