Treasurer of said County actual traveling expenses incurred in the
conduct of their duties, but not to exceed in the aggregate Seven
Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($750.00) per year.

Sec. 2. The effective date of the salary increase set forth in Section
(c) shall not be effective until the next election of County Commis-
sioners in 1958.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 762
(House Bill 185)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 3 (a),
4 (c), 7, 8 (a), 9 (a), 10 (a) and 13 (e) of Article 31B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Defective
Delinquents", sub-titles "Patuxent Institution", "Defective De-
linquents", and "Institutional Board of Review", generally amend-
ing the laws concerning defective delinquents in this State in order
to improve, amend and clarify the language and provisions of said
Article, AND RELATING TO THE PROCEDURES FOR DE-
TERMINING AND RE-DETERMINING DEFECTIVE DELIN-
QUENCY.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 3 (a), 4 (c), 7, 8 (a), 9 (a), 10 (a) and 13 (e) of
Article 31B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Defective Delinquents", sub-titles "Patuxent Institution", "De-
fective Delinquents", and "Institutional Board of Review", be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

3. (Officers and Employees.) (a) There shall be three associate
directors of the said institution. Two of said associates shall be
trained, able and competent psychiatrists of at least 3 years experi-
ence in the practice or teaching of psychiatry and shall assist prim-
arily in the psychiatric and related duties of the institution, and
said associates also shall be associated Psychiatrists of the Depart-
ment of Correction. The third of said associates shall be particularly
charged, under the Director, with the custodial and administrative
duties of the Institution. [Each of said three associate directors shall
be paid such salary as may be fixed in the Budget, which shall not
be less than Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000) annually.] There shall
also be in the Institution three psychiatrists or clinical psychologists,
at least four trained social workers (one of whom shall be a psychiat-
ric social worker), a resident physician and a resident dentist, to-
