or may revoke or suspend, any license subsequently THEN held by
the said licensee.

(f) Every person who weighs tobacco for a tobacco commission
selling agency shall register with the Authority and post a bond in the
amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500). No person shall weigh
tobacco without first having registered with the Authority and ar-
ranged bond satisfactory to the Authority.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 98
(Senate Bill 31)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 13, 22, 23, 24, 31, 36, 38, 39, 44, 48, 51
and 52 of Article 48 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition), title "Inspections", sub-title "Tobacco", and to enact
new Sections 23, 36, and 48 to stand in the place and stead of the
Sections 23, 36, and 48 so repealed; and to repeal and re-enact,
with amendments, Sections 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 26, 32, 43
and 60 of the said Article and sub-title of the Code, generally re-
vising and correcting the laws relating to the State Tobacco In-
spector and the State Tobacco Warehouse and to the sale of Mary-
land tobacco on the hogshead market and removing certain ob-
solete material from such laws.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 13, 22, 23, 24, 31, 36, 38, 39, 44, 48, 51 and 52 of
Article 48 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Inspections", sub-title "Tobacco", be and they are hereby repealed,
and that new Sections 23, 36 and 48, be and they are hereby enacted
in lieu thereof to stand in the place and stead of the Sections 23,
36 and 48 so repealed; and that Sections 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20,
21, 26, 32, 43 and 60 of the said Article and sub-title of the Code, be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, all to
read as follows:

11. (a) The Inspector of Tobacco [, with the approval of the
Governor,] shall have power to appoint one chief clerk and such
other clerks, samplers, tiers, janitors, screw-men, laborers and other
help as may be necessary for the efficient and economical manage-
ment of the warehouse. Such employees shall be paid the salaries
or wages provided by the General Assembly through the annual
budget or appropriation act. The inspector may assign any appointee
or employee to any work deemed by him necessary for the business
of the tobacco warehouse or for the promotion of the tobacco grow-
