Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the provisions of Section 8 of Chapter 266 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1955, be and they are hereby waived insofar
as they impose a time for placing under contract an item in said
Chapter 266 and found on page 411 of the Session Laws for 1955,
making available to the State Military Department a sum for the
construction of an Armory to be located within the Baltimore Metro-
politan Area. There shall be allowed an additional period of two
years, from and after the effective date of this Act, for placing such
project under contract. If such project shall not have been placed
under contract within a period of two years from the effective date
of this Act, then it shall be deemed to have been abandoned and the
other provisions of said Section 8 of Chapter 266 of 1955 shall be
fully effective as to that project.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety, and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 732
(House Bill 941)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 573 and
575 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1955
Edition, being Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Title 35—State's
Attorney", relating to the salary of the State's Attorney of Bal-
timore County and to his Assistant State's Attorneys, creating
another assistant State's Attorney for Baltimore County and
fixing his compensations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 573 and 575 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Balti-
more County (1955 Edition), being Article 3 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Title
35—State's Attorney", be and they are hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

573. The State's Attorney of Baltimore County shall receive an
annual salary of [Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($7,-
500.00)] Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) to be paid to him in
equal semi-monthly installments by the County Commissioners of
Baltimore County. The State's Attorney for Baltimore County is
