Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (f) and 40 (g-a) of Article 10 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and
Attorneys in Fact", sub-title "State's Attorney", be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
40.
(f) Charles [,] and St. Mary's [and Talbot] counties.—The State's
attorneys of Charles [,] and St. Mary's [and Talbot] counties shall
each receive an annual salary of $3,000.
The State's attorney of St. Mary's County shall be allowed twelve
hundred dollars ($1,200.00) annually for clerical expenses and a six
hundred dollar ($600.00) annual rental allowance.
The county commissioners of Charles County are authorized to
appoint an assistant State's attorney and a secretary to the State's
attorney, each to receive a salary of $1,800.00 a year.
(g-a) Cecil, Harford, Talbot and Wicomico counties.—The State's
attorney of Cecil, Harford, Talbot and Wicomico counties shall receive
an annual salary of $4,000. The State's attorney of Cecil County
shall receive an appropriation of $500, to be used for special work
and the employment of extra help, said funds to be spent only with
the approval of the judge of the circuit court of Cecil County. In
Harford County, the State's attorney, with the approval of the judge
for the circuit court of Harford County, may appoint an assistant
State's attorney who shall serve at the pleasure of the State's attorney
at an annual compensation of $1,200, and who shall have all the
legal powers to represent the State before grand juries and in the
trial of criminal proceedings as does the State's attorney. The State's
attorney of Talbot County shall receive in addition to his salary,
$1,800 for secretarial expenses.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

(House Bill 882)
AN ACT to add a new Section 208A to Article 93 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Testamentary Law",
sub-title "Guardian and Ward", providing that where a minor
receives less than $100 as a distributee of an estate, the said money
in Orphans' Court's discretion shall be paid to natural guardian
for past or future support.
