based upon and to be in addition to the compensation or salary re-
ceived by each such chief deputy clerk immediately prior to July 1,
1955. Provided, however, that on or after July 1, 1957, the State

Comptroller shall allow and pay a salary increase of $300.00 $500.00
per year to each of the non-elected employees of the Courts CIVIL
AND CRIMINAL COURTS in Baltimore City.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 689
(House Bill 792)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 175 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," sub-title "Regulatory Powers," re-
lating generally to the power given to the Comptroller, the Board
of License Commissioners from any county or Baltimore City and
the State Appeal Board, to adopt rules and regulations, and pro-
viding for certain specified powers and duties of the Board of
License Commissioners of Prince George's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 175 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages," sub-title "Regulatory
Powers," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

175. (Rules and Regulations.) (a) In addition to the powers
otherwise provided by this Article, the Comptroller, the Board of
License Commissioners from any County or Baltimore City, or the
State Appeal Board shall, respectively, have full power and author-
ity to adopt such reasonable rules and regulations as they may deem
necessary to enable them effectively to discharge the duties imposed
upon them by this Article.

(b) (Prince George's County.) In Prince George's County the
Board of License Commissioners shall adopt reasonable rules and
regulations consistent with the provisions of this Article for which
the said Board may revoke or suspend alcoholic beverages licenses
for any violation thereof and a copy of said rules and regulations
shall be given to every licensee in Prince George's County and a copy
of all rules and regulations adopted under the provision of this sub-
section shall be kept with the Clerk to the Board of License Com-
missioners.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
