SECTION SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO PREVENT A HOLDER
OF A 6 MONTHS' LICENSE FROM APPLYING FOR A RE-
NEWAL OF SUCH 6 MONTHS' LICENSE PURSUANT TO THE
PROCEDURE SET FORTH IN SECTION 65 OF THIS ARTICLE.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

(House Bill 708)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 47 (h)
of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition
and 1956 Supplement), title "County Commissioners", sub-title
"County Treasurers", and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Sections 89 and 90 of Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Charles County", sub-title
"County Treasurer", relating to the salary of the Treasurer and
Assistant Treasurer of Charles County and to their offices and
revising the laws as to the Treasurer of Charles County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 47 (h) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement), title "County Commissioners",
sub-title "County Treasurers", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, and Sections 89 and 90 of Article 9 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Charles County", sub-title "County Treasurer", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, and all to read as follows:

47.

(h) Charles County treasurer and assistant.—The county treas-
urer of Charles County shall receive an annual salary of $3,000.00.
The salary of the assistant treasurer shall be [$2,800.00] $3,000.00
per annum.

89. The said treasurer may appoint some person resident in said
county to be assistant treasurer, who shall be authorized to act in his
place and for whose acts he shall be responsible, and who shall give
such bond, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties
imposed upon him, as the treasurer may require. [; the compensation
to be paid such assistant treasurer to be contracted for and paid by
