the treasurer to such assistant treasurer, from the salary hereinafter
provided for such treasurer. The County Commissioners shall in
addition pay the Assistant Treasurer a salary of $2,000.00 per
annum, payable monthly.]
90. The said treasurer [shall receive an annual salary of three
thousand dollars, to be levied by the County Commissioners at their
annual levy each year, beginning with the first levy after the term
of office of said treasurer shall begin, and he] shall receive the
annual compensation provided for in Article 25 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition as amended from time to time),
title "County Commissioners", and shall receive no other fees or
compensation whatsoever from any other source for the performance
of his duties as treasurer other than for sale of license tags for motor
vehicles; provided, however, that he shall receive an allowance for
clerical expenses in the amount of $800.00 per year. The said
treasurer shall have the authority to appoint an assistant treasurer,
who shall be authorized to act in his place.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 660
(House Bill 709)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 656 (c)
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953
Edition), title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Fire Com-
panies", relating to the disposition of the proceeds of the fire tax
in the 18th Election District of Prince George's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 656 (c) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1953 Edition), title "Prince George's County",
sub-title "Fire Companies", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
656.
(c) In the 18th Election District the proceeds of said tax shall be
divided and paid by the County Commissioners every 90 days in equal
shares to the respective Treasurers of THE FOLLOWING COM-
PANIES IN THE AMOUNTS SPECIFIED: (1) The Seat Pleasant
Fire and Community Welfare Association, Inc., 31%. (2) The
Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 31%. [and] (3)
The Hillside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 31%, and (4) The
Chapel Oaks Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 7%.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
