CHAPTER 657
(House Bill 696)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section
146 (q) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition and 1956 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-
title "Boards of License Commissioners", relating to the salaries
of the members of and the Attorney to the Board of License Com-
missioners of Prince George's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-section 146 (q) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement), title "Alcoholic
Beverages", sub-title "Boards of License Commissioners", be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, to read as follows:

146. (q) (Prince George's County.) In Prince George's County
each of the members of the Board, except the chairman thereof, shall
receive an annual salary of [One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars
($1,200.00)] One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00), and
the chairman thereof shall receive an annual salary of [One Thou-
sand Six Hundred Dollars ($1,600.00)] Two Thousand Dollars
($2,000.00). The Clerk of the Board who shall be the clerk of the
Board of County Commissioners shall receive an annual salary of
One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($1,200.00) as clerk to said
License Board; the attorney for the Board shall receive an annual
salary of [One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($1,200.00)] Two
Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($2,400.00), and said attorney for
the Board shall receive no other compensation or fees for the per-
formance of his duties or for services performed for or on behalf of
the Board including representing the Board in any appeal from rul-
ings of the Board, and the said Board shall be authorized to appoint
a secretary to the clerk to the Board who shall receive an annual
salary of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) and to expend such addi-
tional sum or sums as may be necessary, not exceeding Two Hundred
and Fifty Dollars ($250.00) per annum, to cover printing and other
expenses.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
