approved, as the bond of the sheriff of Cecil County is approved, and
recorded in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Cecil
County, and he shall take and subscribe before the said Clerk the
oath prescribed by Section 6 of Article 1 of the Constitution of the
State.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 131 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Cecil County (1953 Edition),
being Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Cecil County", sub-title "County Commissioners", relating
generally to the auditing of the books of the County officers.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 131 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Cecil County
(1953 Edition), being Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title "Cecil County", sub-title "County Commissioners",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
131. The Board of County Commissioners are hereby authorized
and directed to cause the books of the County Treasurer [and] ,
Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners and ["The Treasurer
and Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners" and "The] Board
of Estimates, [for Cecil County"] to be audited by a well-known and
approved firm of Certified Public Accountants.
The said Board of County Commissioners shall cause the said
[auditor's report] audit to be made at the end of each fiscal year [,]
and [require to] the report thereon must be filed in the office of the
County Treasurer [said auditor's report for the entire year, showing
all accounts, estimates, emergency funds and all resources and re-
ceipts, and all expenditures and disbursements that have been made.]
within six months after the close of the fiscal year.
[The said report shall be immediately printed by the County
Commissioners, and sufficient copies thereof placed in the office of
the County Treasurer that any taxpayer may procure one.
The said report shall immediately be published by the County Com-
missioners for at least one week, in not less than two newspapers
of general circulation, published in Cecil County.]
