CHAPTER 627
(House Bill 589)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 315 of
Article 48A of Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Insurance", sub-title "Explosives", providing for a new type of
manufacturer's license for the hand manufacture of explosives,
specifying the fee therefor and the type of manufacture covered
thereby, and limiting the amount of powder in possession of the
holder of such license.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 315 of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Supplement) title "Insurance", sub-title "Explosives", be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

315. (Revocation; Term of License; Fees.) (a) Any license issued
hereunder may be revoked by the official issuing the same on any
ground specified herein as a ground for denying an application for
such license.

(b)  All licenses issued hereunder shall expire on the last day of
each calendar year unless sooner revoked.

(c)  Each application for a license hereunder shall be accompanied
by the fee hereinafter prescribed, which fee shall be returned in the
event such application is denied. The license fee shall be as follows:

Manufacturer's license, Ten Dollars.

Dealer's license, Five Dollars.

[The fees for manufacturers' and dealers' licenses shall be paid
over by the Commissioner to the State Treasury.]

Hand manufacturer's license, One Dollar; for those individuals
who manufacture explosives by hand, for their own personal use and
not for sale. Such license should limit the licensee to having not more
than ten pounds of powder in his possession at any one time.

THE FEES FOR MANUFACTURERS', HAND MANUFAC-
TURERS' AND DEALERS' LICENSES SHALL BE PAID OVER
BY THE COMMISSIONER TO THE STATE TREASURY.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
