act, and there proceed to revalue and reassess the real and person-
al property of said county, agreeably to the provisions of an act,
passed at November session eighteen hundred and twelve, entitled,
An act for the valuation of real and personal property in the seve-
ral counties of this state; and the said commissioners are hereby
authorised and empowered, to carry into full effect and operation
all the provisions of this act, sis well as the aforesaid act of eigh-
teen hundred and twelve aforesaid.
2. And be it enacted, That the moderator and commissioners of
Hager's-town, and its additions, may and they are hereby autho-
rised, to proceed to a separate and distinct valuation of the real and
personal property of said town, and its additions, by assessors to
be by them appointed in the same manner, and under the same re-
gulations, prescribed by this act, and the act of eighteen hundred
and twelve, to which this act has reference.

for Hager's-town

CHAP. CXIV.

An Act for the benefit of William Morsell, Junior, of Frederick County.
Whereas the said William Morsell, junior, hath by his petition
represented to this general assembly, that Elizabeth Hall, John
Hall, Thomas Watkins, and Thomas Henry Hall, now deceased,
executors of Henry Hall, were legally bound to convey to the
person under whom he claims, part of a tract of land lying in
Frederick county, called "Partnership;" that the said Elizabeth
Hall, John Hall, Thomas Watkins, and Thomas Henry Hall, are
all dead without making any conveyance of the said land, that an
interest in law in said land hath descended to the legal representa-
tives of the .said Elizabeth Hall, John Hall, Thomas Watkins, and
Thomas Henry Hall; that to get a specific performance and con-
veyance of the said land, it is necessary to file a bill in chancery
against the legal representatives of the said Elizabeth Hall, John
Hall, Thomas Watkins, and Thomas Henry Hall; that the said
legal representatives of the persons aforesaid reside in the state of
Maryland, but being unknown to him, and are so numerous and
scattered into different parts of the said state, that he cannot dis-
cover their names or the places of their residence, and is without
remedy according to the existing laws of this state; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
county court of Frederick county, as a court of chancery, upon a
bill being filed by the said William Morsell, junior, and those un-
der whom he claims, against the legal representatives of the said
Elizabeth Hall, John Hall, Thomas Watkins and Thomas Henry
Hall, without naming them, to compel them to convey to him any
part of the tract of land lying in Frederick county, called "Part-
nership;" the said county court instead of issuing subpoenas for
the legal representatives of the said Elizabeth Hall, John Hall,
Thomas Watkins, and Thomas Henry Hall, to make them defen-
dants, shall and they are hereby authorised to cause the object and
substance of the said bill to be published once a week for six suc-
cessive weeks, in some newspaper printed in the city of Baltimore,
to warn the legal representatives of the. said Elizabeth Hall, John
Hall, Thomas Watkins, and Thomas Henry Hall, without naming
them, or any of them, upon a day therein limited, to appear in the
said court in person or by solicitor, to shew cause, if any they
have, why a decree should not pass as prayed.
