1819.

public street and highway for ever hereafter, and the said commis-
sioners are hereby required to return a plot of the said street, when
opened and extended, to the clerk of the corporation of the city of
Annapolis, there to be filed.
2. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid commissioners, or a ma-
jority of them, shall, after having given at least twenty days no-
tice in one of the newspapers in the city of Annapolis, proceed to
assess and value on oath, what damages may be sustained by any
person or persons whatsoever, by opening and extending the said
street, and if any person or body corporate shall think himself,
herself or themselves, aggrieved by the decision of said commis-
sioners, such person or body politic may, by petition, appeal to the
next county court of Anne-Arundel, and the judges whereof are
hereby authorised to review and correct any decision made by said
commissioners.
3. And be it enacted, That the said street shall not be extended
or opened through the property of any individual injured thereby,
until the damages by them sustained and assessed as aforesaid shall
be paid or tendered in payment.
4. And be it enacted, That in case the obstructions in the said
street are not removed within sixty days after payment, or

tender of payment, of the damages as aforesaid, the said commis-
sioners, or a majority of them, are hereby authorised and directed
to remove the same without delay.
5. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners shall have au-
thority to close up the street heretofore opened and running to
Prince-George street, when said East street was obstructed.

CHAP. CX.

An Act to allow the Securities of William Waller, former Sheriff and Collector of
Somerset County, time to make and complete the Collections of the said Wil-
liam Waller.

1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Isaac M.
Adams, Robert Leatherbury, Robert Stewart, Henry K. Long, and
Susan his wife, surviving administratrix of Thomas Curtis, de-
ceased, securities of William Waller, former sheriff and collector
of Somerset county, be and they, or such two of them, or such
other person or persons as they may appoint, are hereby authorised
and empowered, to receive and collect, by execution or otherwise,
all and every sum anil sums of money now in arrear and uncollec-
ted, due to the said William Waller, as sheriff and as collector of
Somerset county, or to his securities, by force and virtue of any
assignment or transfer of the said William Waller to them given,
in as full and ample manner as the said William Waller might or
could have done during the time he acted as sheriff and collector of
Somerset county; and the said Isaac W. Adams, Robert Leatherbury,
and others, securities as aforesaid, or such two of them, or such
other person or persons as they may appoint, are hereby vested
with the whole power and authority which the said William Waller
possessed during the time he was sheriff and collector of Somerset
county.
2. And be it enacted, That the said securities, of those appointed
by them to make and complete the aforesaid collections, shall pro-
ceed therein in every respect, in like manner as the sheriff and col-
lector of the aforesaid county is enjoined by the laws of this state
