CHAP. 57.
Before executing
to deliver account
&c.

2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the said Tho-
mas A. Davis, before he proceeds to execute or distrain the pro-
perty of any person or persons for taxes, public dues or officers
fees, in virtue of this act, to deliver to such person or persons
chargeable with the same at least ten days previous to the levying
such execution or distress, an account, written in words in full
length, of the taxes, public dues or officers fees, demanded of him,
her or them, with an affidavit annexed thereto, that he hath not re-
ceived any part thereof, nor any thing in security or satisfaction
for the same, more than credit given, to the best of his knowledge.

CHAP. LVIII.
An Act authorising Joseph M. Cromwell, late Sheriff of Frederick County, to
complete his Collection.
1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Jo-
seph M. Cromwell be and he is hereby authorised and empowered,
to collect until the first day of January eighteen hundred and twen-
ty-one, all balances due him as sheriff of Frederick county, in
the years of eighteen hundred and fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, and
eighteen, in the same manner as he could or might have done with-
in the time limited by law. any law to the contrary notwithstanding.
2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the said Joseph
M. Cromwell, before he proceeds to execute or distrain the proper-
ty of any person or persons for public dues in virtue of this act, to
deliver to such person or persons, chargeable with the same, at
least thirty days previous to levying such execution or distress,
in account, written in words at full length, of the public dues de-
manded of him, her or them, with an affidavit annexed, that lie
hath not received any part thereof, nor any thing as security or
satisfaction for the same, more than credit given, to the best of his
knowledge.
3. And be it enacted, That the said Joseph M. Cromwell before
he derives any benefit from or under thin act, shall lodge his collec-
tion books in the clerk's office of Frederick county, to be opened
for the inspection of all persons interested in the same.

CHAP. LIX.
An Act to increase the allowance of the Sheriff of Worcester Count; for keeping
Prisoners in Gaol, and dieting them.
Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That it
shall and may be lawful for the sheriff of Worcester county to ask,
demand and receive, for keeping any debtor, or other prisoner in
gaol, and dieting him or her, twenty-five cents per day, in lien of
the sum now allowed, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

CHAP. LX.

keeping Prisoners in Gaol and dieting them.
1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for the sheriff of Queen Anne's county,
to ask, demand and receive, for keeping any debtor or other pri-
soner in gaol, and dieting him or her, twenty five cents per day, in
lieu of the sum now allowed, any law to the contrary notwithstand-
ing.
2. And be it enacted, That the sheriff of Queen Anne's county
shall not be entitled to receive more than twenty-five cents for keep-
