2. And be it enacted, That any person or persons, who may al-
ready have been sentenced to imprisonment in Baltimore county
jail, by the courts of the United States as aforesaid, may at the re-
quest of the judges of the court, when convicted, be removed to the
penitentiary for the remainder of their time, on the same terms and
conditions as before mentioned in relation to future convicts.
3. And be it enacted, That the per diem before mentioned shall be
paid, or secured to be paid monthly, to the keeper of the peniten-
tiary, who shall account for the same to the said institution, and if
payment of the said per diem shall not be punctually paid, the keep-
er shall release the prisoner, after three days notice, to the marshal
of the district.

CHAP. XVI.
An Act to allow Daniel Schnebly, late Sheriff and Collector of Washington
County, further time to complete his Collection.
1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Daniel Schnebly, late sheriff and collector of Washington county,
be and he is hereby authorised and empowered, to collect, until the
first day of January one thousand eight hundred and twenty-one,
all balances due him as sheriff and collector of Washington county,
in the same manner which he could or might have done within the
time limited by law.
2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the said Daniel
Schnebly, before he proceeds to execute or distrain the property of
any person or persons for taxes, public dues or officers fees, in vir-
tue of this act, to deliver to such person or persons chargeable with
the same, at least thirty days previous to the levying such execution
or distress, an account, written in words in full length, of the
taxes, public dues or officers fees, demanded of him, her or them,
with an affidavit annexed thereto, that he hath not received any
part thereof, nor any thing in security or satisfaction for the same,
more than credit given, to the best of his knowledge.
3. And be it enacted, That the same Daniel Schnebly, before he
derives any benefit from or under this act, shall lodge his collection
books in the clerk's office of Washington county, to be open for the
inspection of all persons interested therein;
4. And be it enacted, That the levy court of Washington county,
be and the same is hereby authorised and directed, to pay unto
Daniel Schnebly, late sheriff of said county, the sum of fifty cents
for each and every warrant that by law the said Daniel Schnebly
was compelled to deliver to supervisors of roads, judges of elections
and constables, during his sheriffalty, and that the same be levied
as other county charges are.

An Act to authorise Thomas A. Davis, late Sheriff and Collector of Charles
County, to complete his Collections.
1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Tho-
mas A. Davis, late sheriff and collector of Charles county, be and
he is hereby authorised and empowered, to collect, until the first
day of January eighteen hundred and twenty-one, all balances due
him as late sheriff and collector of Charles county, in the same
manner as he could or might have done within the time limited by
law, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.
