CHAP. XXIX.

A Supplement to the Act, entitled, An act for the benefit of the Heirs of John
Thomas, late of Harford County, deceased.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That it
shall be lawful for the trustees named in the original act to which
this is a supplement, to convey the lands therein directed to be sold,
either to the purchaser or purchasers, or to the heirs and assigns
of the purchasers of said lands, and their heirs and assigns for ever,
they first complying with the requisites of the original act.

CHAP. XXX.

An Act for the benefit of the Executors of Henry Strause, late of Montgomery
County, deceased

1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
orphans court of Washington county be and they are hereby em-
powered, to pass all claims against the estate, of Henry Strause,
deceased, of Montgomery county, in the same manner as if letters
testamentary had been granted by said court, and that the passage
of any such claim by the orphans court of Washington county,
shall be an authority to the executors of the said Henry Strause to
pay the same, and that the said executors shall be entitled to credit
for all payments of claims so passed in the settlement of their ac-
count, as executors, in the orphans court of Montgomery county.
2. And be it enacted, That the register of wills of Washington
county shall keep an account of all such claims passed by said
court, and that a copy of the list thereof, certified by him, under
his hand and the seal of his office, shall be sufficient evidence to the
orphans court of Montgomery county that said claims have been
regularly authenticated and passed.

CHAP. XXXI.

An Act to prevent the erection of Booths within two miles of any Methodist
Camp or Quarterly Meeting in Harford County.

Whereas it has been represented to this general assembly, by
the Methodist Society in Harford county, that sundry persons set
up booths and sell spirituous liquor, and other things, near their
camp and quarterly meetings, during divine service; therefore,
1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
whoever, from and after the passage of this act, shall erect a booth
for the purpose of selling, or shall sell or dispose of any spirituous
liquor, within two miles of any methodist camp or quarterly meet-
ing in Harford county, during the camp or quarterly meeting of
the said methodist society, shall forfeit and pay the sum of twenty
dollars current money, to be applied, one half thereof to the use of
the county, the other half to the use of him or them who shall sue
for the same, to be recovered in like manner as other fines and for-
feitures are made recoverable.
2. And be it enacted, That nothing in this art shall be construed
to hinder any ordinary or licensed retailer from selling spirituous
liquors, or other things, in their respective dwelling houses or
stores.
