CHAP. 28.

Levy authorised
to purchase site
and erecting mar-

ket-house.

5. And be it enacted, That the moderator and commissioners of
Hager's-Town, be, and they are hereby authorised, to levy on the
taxable property of Hager's-Town, and its additions, such sum
or sums of money as will, with the proceeds of the old court-house,
be sufficient to pay tor purchasing the site and erecting the market-
house aforesaid, and shall collect the same, in two equal moieties,
in the year eighteen hundred and nineteen and the year eighteen,
hundred and twenty.
6. And be it enacted, That the eighth section of the act, entitled,
"An act to provide for the erection of a new court-house in Ha-
ger's-town, Washington county," passed at December session
eighteen hundred and fifteen, be and the same is hereby repealed.
7. And be it enacted, That before any properly that may be con-
demned as aforesaid shall be taken possession of by the moderator
and commissioners aforesaid, they shall pay or tender to the owner
or owners of such properly, the full amount of the valuation made

as aforesaid.
8. And be it enacted, That the moderator and commissioners
aforesaid shall have power to borrow such sum or sums of money as
may be necessary to carry this act into effect, at a rate of interest
not exceeding six per centum per annum.

CHAPTER 29.
An act for the relief of Robert Atwell, of Anne-Arundel
County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the justices of the levy court of Anne-Arundel county, be
and they are hereby authorised and empowered, at their annual
meeting, so long as they see cause so to do, to assess and levy on
the assessable property of said county, the sum of thirty dollars,
for the. support and maintenance of the said Robert Atwell, and
that the name be collected annually by the collector of Anne-Arundel
county, and paid to the said Robert Atwell, or his order,

CHAPTER 30.

An act, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled, An act
relating to Public Roads in Worcester County, passed in
December Session eighteen hundred and seventeen.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That no appeal shall be had hereafter from the levy court of Wor-
cester county to the county court, under the twenty-fifth section of
the law to which this is a supplement, unless such appeal shall be
made within sixty days after the decision of the said levy court.
2. And be it enacted, That when damages have been levied,
or whenever damages shall be hereafter levied on said county, for
the use of any person or persons through whose land any public
road or landing may be laid, the said levy court may proceed, any
time after the expiration of sixty days from the time said court
shall order said damages to be levied, to cause said public road or
landing to be made and opened, unless there shall have been an
appeal entered, any thing in the twenty-sixth section of said law
to the contrary notwithstanding.
3. And be it enacted, That whenever the decision of the levy
court shall be affirmed by the county court, on an appeal on ac-
