CHAP. 23.

Court to make al-
lowance to trus-
tees.

share or part of the funds arising from the sale aforesaid, shall
pass or descend in such manner as their interest in the said proper-
ty would have done, had not this law have been passed.
4. And be it enacted, That the said trustee or trustees shall be en-
titled to such sum or sums of money for his or their services and
trouble, that he or they may be necessarily put to in the perform-
ance of the duties required by him or them to be done under this
act, as the county court of Frederick shall think proper to allow
the said trustee or trustees.

CHAPTER 24.

An act to enlarge the powers of the Trustees of the Poor in
Worcester County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for the trustees of the poor in Worcester
county, and they are hereby authorised and empowered, in their
discretion, to keep any number of out-pensioners in said county
which they may deem will be for the advantage of said county, and
to allow each of such pensioners an annual pension not exceeding
twenty dollars, to be paid at such time or times, and in such man-
ner as said trustees may direct.

CHAPTER 25.

An act authorising the Levy Court of Queen-Anne's County
to levy a sum of money on the assessable property of said
County, for the purposes therein mentioned.
Whereas it has been made to appear to this general assembly,
by the petition of the trustees of the poor of Queen-Anne's county,
that in consequence of the increased number of poor for several
years past, that the sums authorised to be annually levied have been
inadequate to their support, and that the trustees have incurred
debts to a large amount,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the levy court of Queen-Anne's county, or a majority of them, be
and they hereby authorised and empowered, at their next levy lay-
ing court, to assess and levy, on the assessable property of said
county, a sum of money not exceeding twenty-five hundred dollars,
for the payment of the debts now owed, to be applied by the trus-
tees to the payment thereof.

Penalty for erect-
ing booths, &c.

CHAPTER 26.

An act to prevent the erection of Booths within two miles of
any Camp or Quarterly Meeting in Baltimore County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
whosoever from and after the passage of this act, shall erect a booth
for the purpose of selling, or shall sell or dispose, of any spirituous
liquor, within two miles of any methodist camp or quarterly meet-
ing in Baltimore county, during the camp or quarterly meeting of
the said methodist society, shall forfeit and pay a sum not exceed-
ing one hundred dollars current money of this state, to be recover-
ed in the county court of said county, by indictment, one half of
the sum which may be recovered to be applied to the use of the
county, and the other half to the person or persons who shall make
information thereof.
