at liberty to subscribe any part of the stock of said bank during
the first day on which the subscription books may be opened, but
in case the whole capital stock of said bank shall not be subscribed
on the said first day, then any person, not resident of Prince-
George's county, may subscribe for the same agreeably to the pro-
visions of this act.
2. And be it enacted, That Robert W. Bowie and Samuel
Sprigg, of Prince-George's county, be, and they are hereby ap-
pointed additional commissioners of the said bank, and that they
be vested with the same powers, and authorised and required to
perform the same duties, to all intents and purposes, as if they had
been named in the act to which this is a supplement.

CHAPTER 170.

A Supplement to an act, entitled, An act to regulate the
Inspection of Salted Fish.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
nothing contained in the ninth section of the act to which this is a
supplement, shall be construed to prevent any person or persons
sending any fish from the fisheries on the Potomac, to any of the
ports of export cither in Virginia or the District of Columbia,
there to be subject to such inspection as may be provided by the
regulations at. said ports.
2. And be it enacted, That the several inspectors who may be
appointed under the said original act, and their deputies, shall
brand their names on each barrel of fish by them inspected, and
also the name of the place for which they may be appointed, and
they shall keep an exact, account of all fish by them inspected, and
make a quarterly return thereof to the governor and council, in
which return they shall state the kinds and qualities of fish by
them inspected.
3. And be it enacted, That for every certificate, required by the
ninth section of the act to regulate the inspection of salted fish,
from the inspector, or his deputy, as therein specified, the master
or owner so requiring it shall pay to the said inspector or his de-
puty one dollar for the same.

CHAPTER 171.

A Supplement, to the act, entitled, An act authorising a Lot-
tery to raise a sum of money for the purposes therein
mentioned, passed at November Session eighteen hundred
and ten.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the commissioners therein mentioned, or a majority of them, be
and are hereby authorised, to raise a sum of money not exceeding
the sum of fifteen thousand dollars over and above the sum in the
said law mentioned, to be applied as directed by the said law, and
to sell and dispose of the said tickets any where within the state,
free of the controul of any ordinances of the city of Baltimore to
the contrary notwithstanding.
2. And be it enacted, That, William Beanes and Edward H. Cal-
vert be substituted us two of the commissioners in lieu of Richard
Marshall and William B. Beanes, now dead, and that the penalty
