undergoing repair, the owner or owners thereof shall be liable to
be indicted therefor, either in Baltimore or Anne-Arundel county
courts, and upon conviction thereof shall be liable to a line, in the
discretion of the court in which the said conviction may be had,
in a sum not exceeding one hundred dollars.

CHAPTER 153.

A further additional Supplement to the act, entitled, An act
to incorporate a Company for the purpose of building a
Bridge over the River Susquehanna near Rock Run.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland That
from and after the passage of this act, the annual election of the
president and directors of the Susquehanna Bridge and Bank Com-
pany, shall be held at their banking house on the second Monday
of December in each and every year, the election to commence at
eleven o'clock A. M. and close at three o'clock P. M. public notice
having been given as is required by the original act to which this
is a further additional supplement, and the several supplements
thereto.
2. And be it enacted, That in case the said election should not
take place on the day or days hereby appointed, then the old presi-
dent and directors shall hold their seats until a new election shall be
had, provided said new election shall be held within three months
from the said second Monday in December, after regular notice as
aforesaid.
3. And be it enacted, That the said president and directors for
the time being, shall have full power and authority to increase the
tolls allowed to them by the said act, and its several supplements,
as much as they may deem proper, provided that they shall not be
more than double in amount in any of the cases provided for by
said laws.
4. And be it enacted, That the president and directors shall have
full power and authority, from time to time, to fix and impose such
fines on persons passing over their bridge, as shall be regulated by
rules to be by them printed and affixed at the entrances of said
bridge, provided said fines shall in no case for a single offence ex-
ceed the sum of twenty-five dollars.
5. And be it enacted, That all fines that may be imposed by said
president and directors under the provisions of this act, they the
said president and directors may recover by a common warrant, in
the name of the president and directors as aforesaid, before a sin-
gle justice of the peace either in Harford or Cecil county, and it
shall be sufficient that the offence was committed on the said
bridge to authorise the rendition of judgment in either of the
counties aforesaid;
6. And be it enacted, That when any suit hath been or shall here-
after be brought in any court of this state, by the said president
and directors, for the recovery of any arrearages due from subscri-
bers for their capital stock, it shall be sufficient for the said presi-
dent and directors to declare for money had and received, and give
the original act, to which this is a supplement, together with its
several supplements, and the special matter in evidence; and that
in all suit or suits already brought, or hereafter to be brought, by
the said president and directors, the defendant or defendants, or
