public a road thirty feet wide, beginning at the south east corn-
er of a tract of land called Note Wood, in the present road
leading from Elkton to back, creek, and running with the line
of Note Wood to Elk river,
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty of
the he commissioners aforesaid, on or before the first day of June
next, to cause a plot and certificate of said road to be made
out, and return the same to the levy court of Cecil county at
their first sitting thereafter, whereupon it shall and may be law-
ful for the levy court of said county, to appoint an overseer to
open and clear said road agreeably to the plot and certificate
aforesaid; and die said road when so opened and cleared as
aforesaid, shall be and the same is hereby declared to be forever
thereafter a public road, and to be kept in repair as other public
roads in said county arc.
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commissioners
shall be entitled to receive a compensation for their attendance
and servers in discharge of the duties of this act, not exceed-
ing two dollars per day, to be ascertained by the levy court,
which is hereby directed to be levied collected and paid as oth-
er county charges are levied, collected and paid.

CHAPTER 84.

An act supplementary to an act to provide for the settlement of
claims arising from the past or future employment of the mi-
litia of this state,
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the governor and council shall be charged
with the settlement of all claims against the state, arising from
the employment of the militia of this state, in place and stead of
the accountants, directed to be appointed by the act to which
this is a supplement.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all such parts of the
act to which this is a supplement, so far as it relates to the ap-
pointment of accountants, be and the same is hereby repealed,
and the resolution passed at May session, eighteen hundred
and thirteen, making an allowance to each of the militia ac-
countants, be and the same is hereby rescinded.

CHAPTER 85.
A supplement to the act entitled, an act for the benefit of the wi-
dow and infant children of Thomas Gibson, late of Freder-
ick county deceased.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That such person or persons as the chancellor, up-
on petition for that purpose shall appoint, shall be, and he, she
or they are hereby authorised to sell and dispose of the whole
of the real estate whereof Thomas Gibson deceased died seis-
ed and possessed, which shall be made for cash or on credit, or
in part for cash, and the residue on credit as the said trustee or
trustees shall think most for the advantage and benefit, of the
parties interested, and that the said trustee or trustees before
he, she or they act as such shall enter into bond to the State of
Maryland, in such penalty, and with such security as the chan-
cellor shall approve, conditioned for a faithful performance of
the trust reposed, which bond shall be recorded in the office of
the court of chancery; upon which bond or an office copy there-
of suit or suits may be brought by any person or persons con-
